Daniel Harris is a creative practitioner who channels his experiences as a hard-of-hearing deaf person combined with his passions for visual expression through graphic design, motion graphics and web design. Daniel Harris currently works for the Salvation Army Australia in his role as Web Developer and Animator.
Office experience at various companies such as the Mental Health Association NSW (Now rebranded as the WayAhead) and at M&C Saatchi among others have provided Daniel with a solid foundation from which to further his aspirations as a creative individual in the professional world.

As Web Content Specialist my responsibilities include:
To assist with the creation and publication of web content within the Editorial, Publishing and Broadcasting department and providing relevant training and support to 300+ corps and their standalone websites. This involves creating websites on the national CMS platform which I developed in conjunction with the IT Team.
As Web Developer and Animator my responsibilities included:
The ongoing development of websites utilizing front-end programming languages including HTML, CSS and Javascript. I created and developed websites based on project briefs as part of the Graphic Design Team. Furthermore, I also developed monthly newsletter templates in HTML format.
My Animator duties included designing and developing animations and other video media in conjunction with the Graphic Design Team.
As a contractor, I assisted in the production of promotional videos for the RDA. In my capacity as a designer, I produced various graphic elements and contributed towards the editing of the final videos. These videos were broadcast at the Hong Kong RDA Clubs and also on Hong Kong television.
An extended promotional video with deeper coverage on the equestrian paralympics was produced in October 2016.
As Social Media Manager, I maintained the online presence of Amore Men's Barber Hairdressing Salon across a variety of social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
As the animation designer for the theatre production entitled "HeySorryGottaGoBye" I was responsible for creating the visual aesthetic and subsequent animations used in the theatrical production via the technique of rear-screen projection.
"HeySorryGottaGoBye" debuted at 107 Projects and was produced as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival.
As a volunteer at Hear For You, I worked as a mentor for deaf/hard-of-hearing teenagers over the course of several workshops. I provided guidance and advice in a nurturing environment which empowers deaf people during their school years and beyond.
Worked as a web designer on the Mental Health Association's anxiety support website. Animation work was produced as content for the site.
Later commenced a rebranding of identity opportunity for the entire Mental Health Association and its umbrella organisation, Collective Purpose.
Undertook and successfully completed Animal Logic's Rotoscope training course to gain skills in VFX and Compositing for film and television media.
Worked as a graphic designer at M&C Saatchi. Undertook various projects including: app visual layout design and amendments, Adobe Photoshop assisted photograph editing and visual design elements for advertisements.
Worked for a year as a graphic design intern and later as a paid contracted freelancer for the National Maritime Musuem's upcoming exhibitions.
Worked as a graphic designer during a month long internship for Cosmos Media, the company behind the scientific publication, Cosmos Magazine.
